Scope

Machine Learning (ML) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are pivotal elements in a wide array of technologies and applications, and their influence on our daily lives is poised to undergo further transformations in the years ahead. ML and IoT are frequently harnessed to develop computer systems that mimic human intelligence. A noteworthy evolution in ML is evident in its shift from being a tool directed by human commands to serving as a machine inference engine capable of extracting novel insights from extensive datasets. Yet, a common question arises regarding how these systems can effectively incorporate behavioral data.

The objective of MICBeD workshop is to create a space for exchange and collaboration between experts in Machine Learning (ML), the Internet of Things (IoT) and behavioral data analysis. We seek to explore synergies between these areas to shape a connected, behavior-driven future by discussing various subjects:

  • ML-IoT Integration: Innovative techniques for the effective integration of machine learning into IoT systems, thereby improving real-time, behavior-based decision making.
  • Behavioral Data Analysis: Advanced approaches for collecting, processing and analyzing behavioral data from IoT devices, enabling in-depth understanding of human-machine interactions and behavioral patterns.
  • Security and Privacy: Discussions on security and privacy challenges and solutions in the context of ML-IoT convergence, with a focus on protecting sensitive behavioral data.
  • Practical Applications: Case studies and practical demonstrations illustrating how the joint application of ML, IoT and behavioral analytics can transform various sectors such as healthcare, smart cities, manufacturing, etc.
  • Ethics and Responsibility: Reflections on the ethical implications of the ML-IoT convergence, highlighting responsible approaches to the development and use of these technologies.

This workshop is aimed at researchers, industry professionals and students passionate about the convergence of Machine Learning, the Internet of Things and behavioral data analysis. We encourage participation from those looking to explore collaboration opportunities and help shape a connected, behavior-driven future.

Paper Submission and formatting

All papers must follow the formatting rules (http://www.cisti.eu/templates.zip) and be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English.

In the version of papers for evaluation by the Scientific Committee should not be included identification, e-mail or affiliation of the authors. This information should only be available in the final version of papers accepted for presentation and publication.

The evaluation version of the papers should be saved in PDF. However, the final version for publication must be saved in Word format.
