Scope:

Digital transformation has been revolutionizing the way society in general and organizations in particular function, making itself felt, in particular, in the management of organizations and in the skills needed by professionals to carry out their functions.

In the public sector, in its different areas of activity (local administration, health, education, and also with regard to tax authorities), digitalization, as well as other technologies, have been increasingly applied, as a way of reducing bureaucracy, increasing efficiency and effectiveness of services, but also as a way of bringing organizations closer to the population they serve. We are currently witnessing a new conception of cities largely based on technology – Smart City, which combines technology with the Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, and considering:

  • the strong influence of technological tools and their impact on public sector management;
  • the constant requirement for professionals to adapt to the rapid and permanent evolution of technologies;
  • the growing demand for digital use by service users;

The Digital transformation in the public sector workshop aims to be a discussion forum where academic and professional communities can share and disseminate knowledge about digital transformation and its impact on public sector management.
